FAQs

  • A rough guideline for the number of items is given in the description for each keepsake. More will be needed for very tiny clothing, or if parts are unusable for any reason.

A batch order of multiple keepsakes often need fewer items as I can save fabric when cutting.

The guidelines are for minimum amounts, and it is fine to send more items.

  • Most clothing fabric will be fine for the keepsakes. I use interfacing to protect and stabilise the fabric, so even very fine or lacy material can be used.

The items do not have to be clothing - I can use other fabric such as curtains, bedding, tablecloths etc.

Very heavy material, such as coats and blazers, is not normally suitable.

  • I can always provide extra fabric to complete any keepsake for you. I can provide plain cotton in a suitable colour to showcase your clothing. Any other type of fabric can be supplied on request, but may have an additional cost - contact me to discuss your requirements and for a quote.

  • During the design of your item I will use the fabric in a way that best fits the pattern and limits the number of seams.

If there are any special parts of the fabric that you would like me to use (or not use!) then please let me know when you order or send your fabric.

  • Usually I do not return unused fabric, but I am happy to return unused items to you with your keepsake - just request this when ordering.

  • Shipping may vary depending on size, weight and quantity. Typically, most single keepsakes will cost approx. £9 for courier UK home delivery or £6 for delivery to your local courier pick-up point within the UK. International shipping quotes are on request.

Estimated costs will be advised on booking and confirmed on completion.

  • Items can take up to 2 weeks from the start of design to completion.

When you make an order I will give you an estimated time for work to start on your item, as there may be a waiting list.

Please let me know when you order if you need your keepsake for a particular date; I will always do my best to meet your dates, and let you know up front if that is not possible.

  • All of the items are keepsakes rather than toys. Since I am using your own fabric, they cannot be certified as child-safe.

I use plastic toy safety eyes for the Teddies; these can be replaced with embroidered eyes instead for added safety.

  • After your item is complete it is carefully checked for any weaknesses. At this stage I can send you photos to make sure that you are happy with the design before it is sent.

All of the keepsakes are double-seamed where appropriate and securely stuffed. They should stand the test of time if treated with care.

Over time, the filling may flatten or the joints loosen a little as with any soft toy, especially if they receive lots of hugs. Please get in touch if your keepsake needs a freshen up in the future.
